Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How?

Hello and welcome to OUR world. You and I both know how challenging it is to manage the high and low blood sugars – – the balancing act is not only mathematical but also, intuitive. We follow the algorithms to manage our sugars yet, we still experience fluctuations. Why is that?

Intuition at times, guides us to the who, what, when, where, and why of it all. Although we think we know what the day may bring and we plan accordingly, even with advanced technology (smart phones, continuous glucose monitors, insulin pumps, etc.), we continue to struggle with the unexpected curve balls. Did you catch that?

Who was it that supported you after hearing about your TYPE I DIABETES diagnosis?

What was it that motivated you to begin reading and sharing stories with other people living with TYPE I DIABETES?

When were you diagnosed? Was it before the continuous glucose monitor (CGM), before the insulin pump, or, was it during the finger pricking / sticking era? Do you still prick your fingers and if yes, why? If you use the CGM and insulin pump, how have these devices enhanced or affected your lifestyle?

Where were you when you experienced your first HYPOGLYCEMIC episode and, how scary was it to feel the shaking, shivering, and sweating – – ALL at the same time? Did anybody in your circle know how to help you?

Why do you have TYPE I DIABETES? Does ANYONE know?

How will you continue to stay motivated to balance the blood sugars, every single day?
