Kaleidoscopes

The beautiful, colorful images we see as we peer into this 200 year old instrument…amazing and intriguing…patterns circulating over and over, again and again. I imagine the patterns and optical reflections are similar to what exists in the galaxy yet, on a much smaller scale. How wonderful and exciting!

As we reflect upon our lives and living with TYPE I, we look for patterns to keep us under control – without patterns it’s quite a challenge to manage our condition. Although not always so wonderful and exciting, patterns circulating over and over for us peeps with TYPE I is an awesome thing. Why? Well, because we can move forward with better ways to manage those patterns. Perhaps someday, this *kaleidoscope technology* will enable a bionic pancreas to work properly and safely in people living with TYPE I.

Would you move forward as a recipient of this *kaleidoscope technology* or, would you continue down the more familiar, known road – using the continuous glucose monitors and insulin pumps, and insulin injections? Why?
