So here we are again, another year going by, and we’re falling back again next Sunday. It’s kinda odd. Why do we keep changing it up, the changes always timed by the seasons, which, by the way, are also changing. I vote no fall back and no spring forward. It’s an unnecessary disruption in our daily lives. What’s the point?
Disruption. Let’s discuss. Type 1 diabetes causes continuous disruptions in our daily lives. It sucs. Constant management… it’s like we have a two year old child on our back 24/7, and that two year old is a terrible two. The problem: with type 1 diabetes, the two year old never does grow up. The two year old forever, kicks and screams, messes up the entire household, and is never satisfied. Kinda like people with type 1 diabetes. Whether or not we want to, in our heads, we kick and scream, mess up the entire household, and are never satisfied. Why? Well, because we have this “manageable” condition whereby the condition chooses to do its own thing. Regardless of our tenacity, adherence to a regimented lifestyle including diet, exercise, sleep, checking blood sugar, administering insulin, and keeping up with the most recent research, diabetes chooses to do its own thing. It’s really quite exhausting.
How do you feel about falling back, with type 1 diabetes?
